Day 1: Kampala – Mgahinga National Parl
After your early breakfast, begin panoramic trip south-word to Mgahinga Gorilla national park that allows you a stopover at the equator where you will have an opportunity to perform a simple experiment and experience a tropical balance, take time to have a look at the traditional drums and crafts proceeding later for Lunch in Kabale town, after lunch proceed through the rocky hills and vallies to Kisoro, arriving for a relax evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
after your breakfast at 7:30am you will be transferred to the gorilla tracking information centre to receive a pre-briefing and at 8.30am you will start the gorilla trek. The ranger guides will take you through the bush pushing your way through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, trekking the gorillas. Lunch shall be served at your accommodation (if not parked), if time allows take a guided community/nature walk which is an ideal short walk, this will see you return to relax at your lodge and overnight.
Day 3: Hiking/Volcano Climbing (Mt. Sabyinyo - 366m).
After your early breakfast, you will be transferred for this day’s gorgeous adventure. This volcano offers 3 challenging peaks to climb. A climb up the mountain takes one up a ridge along the eastern side of the climb to the peak. If you are to continue, the climb to the peak 11 involves walking a ridge with breath-taking drops into gorges of Rwanda and Uganda, a dual experience you will achieve here.
Finally, the hike up to the peak 111 is steep with several ladders and mush scrambling. You are guaranteed getting your hands dirty en-route to peak111! Once on top, you will be in Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, what a triple experience this is!!! The journey takes about eight hours round trip to cover the 14km stretch. After this day’s activity, you will return to your hotel/lodge, relax into the evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Cave Exploration/Boarder Trail
On this day, you will treat yourselves with yet another adventure, this time; Garama cave exploration. This is one of the caves where once the crafty Batwa (who were warriors) lived and fought their neighbors, the Bantu, this takes about 4 hours. Your guide will show you how the Batwa lived and fought out of the cave.
The cave is 342m long and 14m deep and currently inhabited by bats, depending on your physical fitness and interest, you will proceed for the Border Trail. This hike takes you first towards Sabinyo. The trail climbs up the base of Sabinyo for a while through fine montane forest before turning toward the Congo. Along the way you will get a great view of Sabinyo's gorge and peaks. Upon reaching the Congo you cut back along the international border.
The return leg to the Park Head Quarters/hotel is a great section for birding. The two rest huts along the way are good places for a break. Look closely for the golden monkeys and signs of elephants, this hiking (boarder trail) takes about 5 hours covering a distance of about 10 km.
Day 5: Mgahinga - Kampala
After an early morning breakfast, you will depart this adventurous national park heading back to Kampala via Kabale Mbarara with a lunch break in Mbarara town, before proceeding to arrive in Kampala/Entebbe.
