Day 1: Arrival and hotel transfer.
On arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be met and warmly received by your driver guide from African Crane Safaris who will then brief you as he transfers you to your hotel for overnight (depending on your arrival)
Day 2: Kampala – Lake Mburo National Park.
After an early morning breakfast, depart Kampala for Lake Mburo National Park via the Equator where you will stop to perform a simple experiment and experience a tropical balance here, have a look at the traditional drums and crafts being made before proceeding to the park for your lunch. After lunch, relax at ease for the rest of the day or go explore by yourself. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Lake Mburo national park.
After an early morning breakfast, transfer for a game drive in search of animals like: zebras, topis, elands, impalas, buffalos with about 313 bird species recorded here including the rare shoebill stork, Crested Francolin, White-winged Warbler among other species. This will see you return for your lunch, after lunch transfer for a boat ride that gives you the opportunity to view animals and birds like; Crocodiles, Hippopotamus birds like Pelicans, Heron, Cormorant, Black crake, Fish Eagles and the rare shoebill stork. Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Lake Mburo – Mgahinga national park.
After your breakfast, take an en route game drive as you transfer to Mgahinga national park-Kisoro arriving to have your lunch in Kisoro town and relax for the rest of the day or better still you can explore Kisoro town by yourself. Dinner and overnight.
Day5: Hiking/Volcano climbing (Mt. Sabyinyo - 366m). After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred for this day’s adventure. This volcano offers 3 challenging peaks to climb. A climb up the mountain takes one up a ridge along the eastern side of the climb to the peak. If you are to continue the climb to peak 11 involves walking a ridge with breath-taking drops into gorges of Rwanda and Uganda, a dual experience you will achieve here. Finally, the hike up to the peak 111 is steep with several ladders and mush scrambling. You are guaranteed getting your hands dirty en-route to peak111! Once on top, you will be in Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, what a triple experience this is!!! The journey takes about eight hours round trip to cover the 14km stretch depending on your physical strength and speed. After this day’s adventure, you will return to your hotel/lodge, relax into the evening, dinner and overnight.
Day6. Mgahinga national park – Bwindi impenetrable gorilla forest national park.
After your breakfast, you will transfer at ease to Bwindi where you may have lunch at your lodge if you arrive early or have it en route depending on your interests along the way. In the afternoon if time allows take a village walk or you may decide to go birding in the evening or better still just relax at your lodge. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking (Bwindi)
After your breakfast, you will be transferred to the gorilla trekking information office for a pre-briefing by the park rangers who will then lead you into the forest trekking this great relatives of ours (Mountain gorillas). The rainforest is dense and is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas as they interact with each other is a rewarding and memorable one. After this day’s gorgeous adventure, you will return for lunch (if not parked) and if time allows, transfer for a late afternoon community walk to see this local people’s way of life and cultures. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Bwindi - Lake Bunyonyi
After your breakfast proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for a spectacular site seeing experience as you take a boat ride on a traditional motorized boat around numerous Islands of the lake, riding to the punishment island, Pygmies Island where you will be able to see their traditional way of life and cultures, with great birding opportunities of species like; Otters, Pied kingfishers, swallows, the African Hobby, Black Kite, Swamp Flycatcher, Scarlet-chested, Bronze and Red-chested Sunbirds, White-headed Saw-wing among others. You can also enjoy a bilharzia free-swimming experience on the lake and sun bath. After this day’s freshening adventure, you will return for a relaxed evening, dinner and an overnight.
Day 9: Lake Bunyonyi - Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early morning breakfast, take an en route scenic drive of lake Bunyonyi with spectacular sightseeing experience that lake Bunyonyi offers as you transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will have your lunch en route in the Ishasha sector. Take a game drive in search of the rare tree climbing lions and other game in the Edward flats before proceeding for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early morning warm up tea or coffee, you will head for a game drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens mile in search of animals like: lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mangoose, waterbucks, kobs and, if you’re lucky, the leopard with a record 606 bird species recorded. Return for a full breakfast and relax into the lunch break. After lunch you will transfer to enjoy a unique two hours boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This launch cruise gives you a great opportunity for photography, animal and bird watching at close range. Return for an ease/relaxed evening. Dinner and overnight.
Day 11. Queen Elizabeth national park – Rwenzori mountains national park.
After your breakfast transfer to Kasese home to the Rwanzururu kingdom and the mighty Rwenzori mountains where you will have the opportunity to visit the “Obusinga bwa Rwanzururu” Kingdom of the Rwanzururu for another dynamic cultural treat here. Lunch will be served at Margherita hotel or Spring hotel international. Tour Kesese town as you enjoy the spectacular views of the Rwenzori mountains, dinner and overnight.
Day 12; Rwenzori trek/walk
After your breakfast, you will be transferred to Nyakalengija trailhead (1600m ) for a nature walk around the park to the first Hut(Nyabitaba hut) with your parked lunch, that will see you return late evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Mount Rwenzori national park – Fort portal.
After your breakfast, you will transfer to Kibale forest national park that allows you a visit to the palace of the youngest king in the world (Tooro kingdom palace) for a cultural and historical brief , lunch shall be served in Fort portal town before proceeding to Amabere ga Nyinamwiru where you will have an interesting twin story of this treasured waterfalls. One has a cultural formation and the other geographical with stalagmites and stalactites. Enjoy the scenic views of the fabled Mountains of the Moon, if time allows, you will proceed to visit the crater lakes before returning for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 14: Chimpanzee tracking (Kibale)
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the Chimpanzee tracking information office for a pre-briefing by the ranger guides who will then lead you into the rain forest in search of chimpanzees. These primates are very mobile and viewing them is unpredictable but a forest walk is an enriching activity that starts at 8.00 am taking about 4 to 5 hours. This forest is home to a large number of chimpanzees and other primates including Lhoestes, Red-colobus, Blues, Red-tailed, grey cheeked mangabeys, birds, and butterflies. The guide will provide a detailed explanation on not only primates but all the forest’s fauna and flora. Returning to have your lunch at primate lodge. After lunch, transfer for a swamp/community walk to KAFRED, a local community initiative in Bigodi for yet more primates and bird watching with an optional opportunity to meet and interact with the local communities living here. Dinner and overnight.
Day 15 : Kibale national park – Semliki national park/game reserve.
After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to Semliki also known as the virgin birding paradise. Visit the fuming female and male hot springs with a two meter jet of hot water (130oC) and a pool of oozing boiling water at 106o C also referred to us the natural boiler. Proceed for a forest walk visiting the Pygmies community to see this people’s traditional way of life and cultures where you can optionally join them in their performances/dance with a great evening birding experience.
Day 16: Semliki game reserve.
After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer for the day’s activities birding this great section with a game drive in the reserve in search of animals like: Forest buffaloes and elephants, leopards, statungas, Water Chevrotain, White-bellied Duiker, hippopotamus, crocodiles among other species. If time allows, proceed to Ntoroko for a freshening breath taking experience on the shores of the lake and transfer to Fort Portal town for dinner and overnight.
Day 17: Fort portal - Murchison Falls National Park
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Murchison falls national park via Hoima that allows you a lunch break in Hoima town before proceeding to Murchison falls via the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley passing through verdant countryside traditional homesteads, on arrival at the park, you will transfer to visit the top of the falls before returning to check in your lodge. Dinner and overnight.
Day 18: Murchison Falls National Park
After an early morning warm up tea/coffee, you will transfer for a game drive to the northern bank in search of animals like: lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kobs, buffaloes among other animal and bird species that your guide will help you spot. This will see you return to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, transfer for a three hours boat ride on the Nile River to the bottom of falls where you will have the opportunity to view animals like; hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, buffaloes and elephants on the river bank with an option to hike to the top of the falls. Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 19: Murchison falls – Kidepo valley national park
After an Early morning breakfast, you will transfer to Kidepo valley national park via Lira Kotido road with a lunch break in Lira town. This route gives you an opportunity to enjoy the scenery of Labwor hills and in particular the massive and bare Alerek (Kidi Rwot) rock about 55 km to Kotido. On arrival at the park you will relax at your lodge for the rest of the day/evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 20: Kidepo valley national park.
After an early morning breakfast, transfer for a game drive in search of animals and birds like: the rare tree climbing lions( can be seen in the Narus valley), Leopards, Elephants, Common Zebras, Buffalo, Bohor Reedbuck, Waterbuck, Oribis (this can be seen in the Narus valley), Cheetah, Rothschild giraffe, spotted hyena among other species and birds like; the rare Black-breasted Barbet, Karamoja Apallis, Ostrich, African Swallow-tailed Kite, Black-headed Plover, Pygmy Falcon, Eastern Pale Chanting Goshawk among other species. Your guide will help you spot a lot more species before retiring to your lodge for lunch, relax a little and later spice up your day with a visit to Kidepo River, visit the picnic site located on the sand and sweet melody from the palm leaves as they swing to the winds. Returning to your lodge to enjoy an evening cultural performance with a wide menu for you ranging from the Emuya of the Naporre and Nyangia ethnic groups and Larakaraka and Apiti dances of the Acholi.You will not only enjoy their performances but also add value and uplift their livelihoods through this earnings. Dinner and overnight.
Day 21: Kidepo valley national park (Hiking/Scenary viewing).
On this day after an early morning breakfast, we continue exploring Kidepo valley and this time Lamoj Mountains and the splendid Kidepo River Valley dominated by Borassus palm forest, visit the Kanangorok Hot Springs about 11 km from Kidepo river valley. Depending on your interests and speed, if time allows, we may also visit the Karimajong manyattas (traditional homesteads), kraals to see traditional costume, stools, spears headdress, knives, bows and arrows and jewelry made locally here and you may also contribute to their livelihoods by purchasing some items of your interest, returning later to your lodge. Dinner and overnight.
Day 22: Kidepo valley national park – Mount Elgon national park (Mbale)
After an early morning breakfast, depart Kidepo valley national park for Mount Elgon national park via Soroti Moroto road with an opportunity to see a stunning view of the steep volcano of Alekilek as we head far East for our lunch in Soroti or Mbale town on the backdrop of the Elgon mountain. After lunch, proceed to Sipi for overnight.
Day 23: Sippi falls
After an early morning breakfast, transfer for the day’s activity passing through Sipi Village nestled between mountains and waterfalls as you head to this beautiful and romantic water falls. Enjoy a hike to the lovely Sipi Falls. Passing through typical African bandas (village homes), banana plantations and other fields as you take a feel of Mount Elgon hiking. This will see you return for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.
NOTE: This is not enough time to explore and hike Mount Elgon but a brief introduction and visit to sipi falls. However, we can incorporate a 4days programe to hike to the Wagagai peak at 4321m.
Day 24: Mount Elgon (Mbale) – Jinja.
After your breakfast, depart Mount Elgon/Mbale for Jinja also known as the adventure capital arriving for a late lunch at your hotel / lodge on the shores of the river. After lunch, relax on the shores of the river. Dinner and overnight.
Day 25: Jinja excursion.
After your breakfast, you will transfer for a Jinja tour visiting the Source of the Nile, Bujagali falls and adrift, lunch shall be served in your hotel/lodge proceeding later to Kampala via the Mabira rainforest with a chance to take an en route visit to the spectacular Sezibwa falls, a spiritual and cultural centre where many natives are believed to flock for blessings, wealth, and fortunes. A traditional healer performs ceremonies for those seeking love, children, a successful business deal or a good harvest. The falls are endowed with sharp edged rocks, magnificent sound of soothing waters flowing down the steep ridged stones, medicinal trees and a sizable number of bird species recorded before proceeding to arrive in Kampala for a deserved relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Transfer for a full or half day white water rafting. Other adventurous activities include; Wild Nile jet boating, the Nile high bungy jumping, Quad biking, Kayaking, Horse riding among others. However, all these activities require an early/advance booking at the time of your inquiry as they require time and attract a fee each.
Day 26 Kampala/or Ngamba island half day tour.
After your breakfast, you will either take a city tour of Kampala with the opportunity to go shopping for souvenirs that includes the Buganda kingdom royal heritage tour (details in our Buganda kingdom cultural tour)
Transfer for a half day visit of Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary where you will have the opportunity to view and optionally participate in the feeding of this orphaned and rescued primate, tour the island and optionally play some indoor and outdoor games available here before returning on the main land.
This night and your tour shall be crowned by a cultural dinner at Ndere cultural center as you watch a summary of all Cultures in a thrilling performance of young and old energetic Ugandans. Return later for overnight.
Day 27: Airport transfer.
You will be transferred to Entebbe airport for your flight back home.
