This safari takes you around Uganda through Kampala, the source of the Nile(Jinja), Murchison Falls National park, Kibale Forest National park, Semliki national park, Queen Elizabeth National park, Bwindi impenetrable National park, Lake Mburo National park and Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary.
Day 1: Arrival and Hotel Transfer
On arrival at Entebbe international Airport, you will be met and received by your driver guide from African Crane Safaris who will then brief you as he transfers you to your hotel for overnight (depending on your arrival time)
Day 2: Kampala – Jinja - Kampala
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the Eastern town of Jinja also known as the adventure capital for an exciting adventure parked day.
On this day, you will either start with a visit to the famous Sezibwa falls (deriving its name from a local ‘Luganda’ word to mean I/my way cannot be blocked) famous for its magical healing waters and cultural/ritual practices where its believed that people go to seek good luck for their businesses, a good harvest, love favors and child sex choice among others, proceeding later to Jinja via the Mabira forest through the beautiful tea and sugar cane plantations, on arrival, you will take a visit to the source of the Nile river, returning to have your lunch before proceeding to visit Bujagali falls, and adrift camp. Return to Kampala later in the day for a free thanks and familiarization dinner and cultural performance at Ndere Centre.
Take a full day white water rafting, the Nile high Bungy jumping, Wild jet boat on the Nile, Kayaking, Quad biking, horse riding among other adventure parked activities here (however, each of the activities requires an earlier booking and attracts a fee please)
Day 3: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
After an early morning breakfast, depart Kampala for Murchison Falls National Park. That allows you an en-route visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking proceeding later for lunch in Masindi town. On arrival at the park, you will encounter a variety of bird species, monkeys, baboons, buffalos among others as you proceed for a visit to the top of the falls. This will see you transfer to your lodge, relax in the evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Murchison Falls
After an early morning breakfast embark on a morning game drive to the Northern bank where your guide will help you spot a great number of animal and bird species. Return to the lodge for a lunch break and after lunch, you will take a 3 hours boat ride on the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls” This is also the habitat for many bird species. There is an option of hiking to the top of the falls. It is an exciting experience that brings you very close to the rushing whitewater as it squeezes itself through the narrow crevice below. The resulting mist from the turbulence often produces rainbows. Return later for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Murchison Falls – Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls with your parked lunch and drive Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley through Hoima, home to Bunyoro kingdom passing through verdant countryside tea plantations and traditional homesteads. You will arrive in Fort Portal the capital of the Tooro kingdom late in the afternoon, relax into the evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking (Kibale)
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the chimpanzee tracking information office for a pre-briefing by your ranger guides who will then lead you into the rain forest tracking these primates (Chimpanzees). These primates are very mobile and viewing them is unpredictable but a forest walk is an enriching activity that starts at 8.00 am taking about 4 to 5 hours. This forest is home to a large number of chimpanzees and other primates including phoestes, Red-colobuses, Blues, Red-tailed, grey cheeked mangabeys, birds, and butterflies. The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora. This will see you return to have your lunch at Primate Lodge, after lunch, transfer to bigodi community initiative for a swamp/community walk that allows you a great opportunity for more primate and bird watching and interaction with the local communities, returning later for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Kibale Forest – Semliki National Park
After your breakfast, you will transfer to Semliki national park, arriving for your lunch in your lodge. After lunch, transfer for a boat ride, returning to relax at your lodge, dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Semliki National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will take an enroute game drive with your parked lunch to the hot springs, transferring later for a forest walk to the pigmies community to see this peoples ways of life and culture where you will freely interact with them through their leader and optionally join them in their cultural entertainment. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Semliki – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After your breakfast, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park that allows you a visit to Amabere ga Nyinamwiru, a famours cultural site attached to the Tooro Kingdom, visit the crater lakes and the palace of the youngest king ever crowned in the world (Tooro kingdom). Lunch will be served in Fort Portal town before proceeding to arrive in Queen Elizabeth national park. Take an en-route game drive as you transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early morning warm up tea or coffee, transfer for a game drive in search of animals like: lions, Kobs, Topis and many others. Driving back to the lodge for a late breakfast, relax into the lunch hour, after lunch , enjoy a unique two hours boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. This launch cruise gives you a great opportunity for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species. Dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impentrable Gorilla Forest
After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi with your packed lunch, via Ishasha sector of the tree climbing lions, if you’re lucky may come across some of this great Cats resting on/under the trees. The landscape is open savannah with acacia trees take an en-route game drive as you proceed through the beautiful valleys of the Kigezi also known as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’ to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Gorilla Trekking (Bwindi)
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the gorilla trekking information office for a pre-briefing by the park rangers who will then lead you into the gorilla sanctuary. The rainforest is dense and is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, the thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is an exciting and memorable experience. Gorillas are shy and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact with each other, this will see you return for a relaxed afternoon into the evening or if time allows take a guided nature/village walk/bicycle riding around the local communities, dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Bwindi – Lake Mburo National Park
After your breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest national park in Uganda; On arrival at the park, you will take an en route game drive to your lodge, arriving to have your lunch. After lunch, transfer for a refreshing boat ride on lake Mburo’s numerous lakes. Diner and overnight.
Day 14: Lake Mburo – Kampala
After an early morning breakfast, transfer for a game drive in search of the beautiful impalas, zebras, cape buffalos, elands, oribi, topis among others. Return for your breakfast, after breakfast, depart Lake Mburo back to Kampala via the equator that allows you a stopover at the equator to perform a simple experiment and experience a tropical balance here, proceeding later to arrive in Kampala, check inn and later proceed to go shopping, handcrafts and souvenirs. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 15: Ngamba Island/Airport Transfer
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Uganda Wildlife Education Centre from where you will take a boat transfer to Ngamba Island, where you will have a chance to view and optionally participate in feeding this orphaned and rescued Chimpanzees, returning later for your lunch on the main land and if time allows visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre. Freshen up before the final transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home, having covered a cross section of attractions of probably one of the greenest countries on earth.
