African Crane Safaris Booking Terms and Conditions


Confirming a safari/service with African Crane Safaris and Logistics Ltd implies you have read, fully understand and accept the terms and conditions described herein. If you have any questions or clarifications kindly contact us!

Accuracy of Information
The descriptions, information and opinions given by us in respect of national parks, animal sightings, accommodation, itineraries, gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits and security are given in good faith, based on the latest information available to us. Every care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the information provided. We cannot accept any responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions caused by matters beyond our control. Upon confirmation of the safari/service, the client/agent must inform African Crane Safaris of any preferences and special requests of the participants; e.g. medical needs, diet, requirements relating to disabilities and any other requirements.

Cancellations by Us
We shall always endeavor to avoid canceling your confirmed trip. However, we reserve the right to do so. If we cancel your holiday/safari or any service, except where you have failed to make payment or as a result of force majeure, we shall offer you the choice of purchasing an alternative holiday/service from us of a similar standard to that originally booked.

Where the chosen alternative is less expensive than your original holiday/service, we shall refund the difference but if it is more expensive, we shall ask you to top up. We reserve the right, without prior notice, to terminate the holiday/service of any person in your party if, in our opinion or in the opinion of any other person in authority, the persons concerned is found to be a criminal or possess a security threat, behaves in such a way to cause or be likely to cause danger, annoyance or distress to any third party or damage to property. In this situation, the person(s) concerned will be required to leave immediately. We shall have no further responsibility towards such person(s). No refunds will be made and we shall not pay any expenses or costs incurred as a result of the termination.

Cancellations by You
Should you or any member of your party be forced to cancel, we request you advise us or your travel agent in writing. A cancellation is not effective until we receive a copy of your hand written notice. To cover our estimated loss caused by the cancellation and as we may be unable to resell your holiday, cancellation fees will be levied per person as follows: Period before departure Cancellation charge (as a percentage of the total price paid where applicable)

We reserve the right to deduct all expenses incurred from money paid.
Gorilla permits and chimpanzee permits are 100% non-refundable unless medical evidence/proof is provided in the case of sickness then a 50% refund is made by the relevant authorities. No refunds will be made for any unused services as a result of late arrival or no-show of any of the members of the tour.

Complaints
Complaints must be reported immediately to us, our representative and to the supplier of the service(s) in question who will do their best to resolve any problem. If you remain dissatisfied, kindly submit a written complaint to African Crane Safaris and Logistics Ltd in Kampala as soon as possible and not later than 30 days after completion of your safari/service to enable us investigate fully and take necessary steps to resolve the matter. Regrettably, liability for any complaints not notified in accordance with this procedure will not be accepted.

Force Majeure
We regret we cannot accept liability or pay compensation where the performance of our obligation is affected by any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not even with due care, foresee or avoid. Such as; war or threat of war, riots, border closures, terrorist activities, unexpected government acts, fire, industrial disputes, natural disaster, weather conditions, technical and mechanical problems to transport, road closures, and all similar events beyond our control.

Gorilla Permits
Purchasing a gorilla permit is not a guarantee of seeing gorillas on plain sight. However, it gives you the opportunity to visit the relevant gorilla national park in search of these non-programmed relatives of ours in their natural setting. Local conditions sometimes mean that access to the gorillas is made impossible at short notice. We are unable to accept liability for any circumstance that might lead to gorilla viewing being cancelled by either closure of the National Park or borders; absence of the gorillas; security changes. Refund is at the discretion of the relevant authority and we cannot accept liability for them.

We however, shall make all necessary efforts to try and obtain a refund from the relevant authorities and pass it on to you once given to us. We also remind you that gorilla permits and chimpanzee permits are strictly booked and confirmed by cash payment at the Uganda Wildlife Authority subject to availability at the time of booking. We will help you check for the availability and purchase them on your behalf upon receipt of the said money.

Liability
African Crane Safaris will make every effort to ensure that all arrangements and services connected to the safari will be carried out as specified in the most efficient and effective way possible. However, the company does not have direct control of the provision of services by suppliers and, whilst every supplier is chosen with the utmost care, African Crane Safaris does not accept liability for errors or omissions of such suppliers. African Crane Safaris shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature whatsoever whether to person or property.

While every care is taken, African Crane Safaris cannot be held responsible for the direct or indirect costs of loss or damage to baggage or personal possessions. African Crane Safaris cannot accept liability or pay compensation for unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the company or its staff, including flight delays/cancellations or force majeure such as war or threat of war, riots, border closures, terrorist activities, unexpected government acts, fire, industrial disputes, natural disaster, weather conditions, technical and mechanical problems to transport, road closures, and all similar events beyond our control.

It is the responsibility of the travel agency/wholesaler to ensure that all members of the tour have the appropriate passports, visas, travel permits, health certificates and other documentation required for the safari/holiday. However, feel free to contact us for any details you may require. It is the responsibility of the clients to take proper medical and practical precautions in regard to health and safety. Medical advice should be sought well before travelling.

Clients are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance before travelling. Local evacuation coverage is available in the unlikely event of a medical emergency while out on a safari with African Crane Safaris. The respective laws of the countries we operate govern African Crane Safaris liability to passengers carried in its own vehicles. All claims are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the country in which the cause of action arises.

Payment
At the time of booking, we request you to pay a 30% deposit of the total price/cost of your holiday including fees for gorilla permits and chimpanzee permits where applicable. If written acceptance is not received from you, we shall assume acceptance of the Terms and Conditions. The balance of payment should be made in full not later than 40 days before departure to allow us fully prepare and organize your safari/holiday.

Bookings made within 30 days or less to departure must be paid in full at the time of booking. All monies you pay to one of our authorized agents for your holiday with us will be held by the agent on our behalf until it is paid to us or refunded to you.
