Animal Checklist Kenya

This is a List of Animals which may be seen in Kenya. A qualified guide will be able to identify these animals and give information on their behavior. For detailed information on the Kenya wildlife, a good field guide is invaluable, and best purchased before your arrival. (The Safari Companion is one of them)

Kenya has two important Wildlife areas; some species can only be found in the arid areas and others only in the northern ones. Because of a short and a long rainy season, Kenya is excellent for viewing game as it can support a higher density of animals than other African countries.
