Best of East Africa Safari; (Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda)


Day 1: Arrival and Hotel Transfer
On arrival, you will be met and received at the airport by your driver guide from African Crane Safaris who will then brief you as he transfers you to your hotel for overnight(depending on the time of your arrival)
(The Stanley Hotel for overnight stay on Bed and breakfast basis.)

Day 2: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
After your breakfast, transfer to Amboseli national reserve on the foot hills of Africa's highest mountain (5895 meters) Mount Kilimanjaro also famous for the setting of Hemingway’s book ‘The Snows of Kilimanjaro’. Arriving on time for your lunch at Serena Lodge.

After your lunch, transfer for a game drive where the snows of Mount Kilimanjaro form a majestic backdrop to one of Kenya's most spectacular displays of wildlife  in search of animals like: Lions, Elephants, Leopard, Rhinos, Cheetah, Buffalos among others, this will see you return to your lodge for an easy evening, dinner and overnight. (Amboseli Serena Lodge on full board basis)

Day 3: Amboseli – Aberdare National Parks
After an early morning breakfast, depart Amboseli for the Aberdares National Park, where you will treat yourself with a difference in high altitude providing a different setting to that of a typical African savannah of Kenya’s national parks creating a cool alternative to a traveler. Arriving in Nyeri for your lunch at Aberdare Country Club before transferring for a late afternoon game viewing in search of animals like: Elephants, Rhinoz, Warthogs, the giant forest hog, Water bucks, Bush bucks. Returning to your hotel for an easy evening, dinner and overnight (Tree Hut hotel)

Day 4: Aberdare – Lake Nakuru National Park
After an early morning breakfast, depart Aberdare transferring to Nakuru National Park, arriving to have your lunch at Lion Hill Lodge in Nakuru. This (Lake Nakuru) is a soda lake on the basin of the rift valley. It has a large concentration of nearly two million flamingoes that flock seasonally to feed on the blue-green algae.  After your Lunch, transfer for an afternoon game drive in search of animals like rhinos resident here among other species. This will see you return for an easy evening, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara
After your breakfast, you will transfer to Maasai Mara also known as the ‘New York’ of the natural world, has the greatest concentration of wildlife anywhere in Africa.  The Maasai tribe lives in the outskirts of the park and enjoys a peaceful co-existence with the wildlife. On arrival at the park, you will take an enroute game drive to your lodge for a late lunch, after lunch, you will relax at your lodge before transferring for an evening game viewing, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Maasai Mara
After an early morning warm up tea or coffee, you will be transferred for a game drive exploring the park’s amazing concentration of wildlife like elephants, zebra, rhinos, lions among others throughout the year, with the spectacular wildebeest migration from Serengeti mainly in July and August. This will see you return to your lodge for relaxation after this day’s great wild exploration. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Maasai Mara – Nairobi/Transfer to Tanzania.
After an early morning breakfast, transfer back to Nairobi through the northern part of the park to the main Narok road that allows you a stopover at Narok; take a look at the Souvenirs here and you may buy some of your interest, relax as you interact on a cup of coffee before proceeding to arrive in Nairobi for your transfer to Tanzania for yet another exciting safari experience

Day 8: Arrival and Hotel Transfer.
On arrival, you will be met and received by your driver guide from African Crane Safaris who will then brief you as he transfers you to your hotel for overnight(depending on your arrival time)

Day 9: Arusha – Tarangire National Park.
After breakfast, take a walk on the slopes of Mt Meru introducing you to this town’s lifestyle. Proceed to the food market to purchase some fresh fruits to take with you as you transfer to Tarangire national park. Enjoy an evening game drive in search of animals like: Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes, Buffalo, impala, Gazelle among others with well over 550 bird species and migratory wildebeest, this will see you return for an easy evening, dinner and overnight (Tarangire Oliver’s Camp)

Day 10: Tarangire - Lake Eyasi
On this day, you will be transferred to enjoy an early morning game drive before returning to your camp for breakfast, after breakfast, depart Tarangire crossing the plains to the Rift Valley escarpment passing through verdant country side villages and beautiful Lake Manyara. On arrival, you will be transferred to witness a hunt by the last remaining Bushmen in Tanzania. After your lunch, transfer in search of the small dikdik, vervet monkey, fish eagles and hippos. Lake Eyasi – is home to the Hadzabe and Datoga, one of the last remaining Bushmen hunter-gatherers of its kind in Africa. Small in stature and speaking an ancient click dialect.Dinner and overnight. (Kisima Ngeda Tented Camp)

Day 11: Lake Eyasi – Ngorongoro Crater
After your breakfast, depart Lake Eyasi driving across the crater rim passing through the grey lichen covered rain forest. Descend 600m to the crater floor where you will spend the rest of the day game viewing in the crater with your picnic lunch by the hippo pool, in search of birds and animals like: Flamingos, Hippos, male elephants (female elephants remain at the rim), Zebras, Wildebeest, Buffalos, Lions, the endangered black Rhino and Leopard among others, returning later to your lodge for an easy evening, dinner and overnight (Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge)

Day 12: Ngorongoro - Serengeti.
After breakfast drive to Nainokanoka village for a walk up to the small crater and visit the often forgotten Mange waterfalls. This provides a great opportunity to see these residents’ way of life and cultures before transferring to Serengeti with your picnic lunch heading to Ikoma area of Serengeti, arriving for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight (Ikoma Safari Camp).

Day 13: Serengeti National Park
After an early morning breakfast, transfer for a game drive in search of animals and birds like: Lions, Leopards, Cheetah, wildebeest, Zebra, Impala; Tawny eagles, Lappet-faced vultures among other species. Return to your lodge for a lunch break, relax at ease before returning for a second game drive, this will see you return to your camp late evening, dinner and overnight at (Ikoma Tented Lodge)

Day 14: Serengeti - Lake Manyara National Park
After your breakfast depart Serengeti for Lake Manyara National Park once referred by Hemingway as the most beautiful in Africa. This allows you an en-route stop over at Olduvai Gorge (the cradle of mankind), visit the small museum where the Leakey family discovered the first evidence of Homo sapiens. The park is also renowned for its tree climbing lions and millions of flamingos, arriving for your late afternoon/evening game drive, dinner and overnight (Kirurumu Tented Lodge, located on the Rift Valley edge with spectacular views across Lake Manyara.)

Day 15: Lake Manyara - Arusha / Transfer to Uganda
On this day, you will be transferred early morning for a walking safari along the rift valley rim that provides photographers with great panoramic shots ahead of your breakfast, take an en-route game drive in Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha that allows you a stopover at a coffee plantation on your way, arriving in Arusha for your airport transfer to Uganda home to the mountain gorillas and chimpanzees among other wildlife and adventure park activities.

Day 16: Arrival and Hotel Transfer
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met and warmly received by our representative who will then brief you as he transfers you to your hotel for overnight.

Day 17: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
After an early breakfast, depart Kampala for Murchison Falls National Park. That allows you a visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary (track the Rhinos here) proceeding later for lunch in Masindi town.  On arrival at the park, you will encounter a variety of monkeys, baboons, among others as you proceed for a visit to the top of the falls. This will see you return transferring to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.

Day 18: Murchison Falls National Park
After an early warm up tea of coffee, Embark on a morning game drive to the Northern bank where your guide will help you spot a great number of animal and bird species. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Relax into the lunch break and after lunch, you will take a 3 hours boat ride on the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls” This is also the habitat for many bird species. There is an option of hiking to the top of the falls. It is an exciting experience that brings you very close to the rushing whitewater as it squeezes itself through the narrow crevice below. The resulting mist from the turbulence often produces rainbows. Return later for dinner and overnight.

Day 19: Murchison Falls - Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast depart Murchison Falls with your parked lunch and drive Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley through Hoima, the town of the Bunyoro kingdom  passing through verdant countryside tea plantations and traditional homesteads. You will arrive in Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom late in the afternoon, relax into the evening, dinner and overnight.

Day 20: Chimpanzee Tracking (Kibale Forest)  
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the chimpanzee tracking information office for a pre-briefing by your ranger guides who will then lead you into the rain forest tracking these primates (Chimpanzees). These primates are very mobile and viewing them is unpredictable but forest walk is an enriching activity that starts at 8.00 am taking about 4 to 5 hours.

This forest is home to large numbers of chimpanzees and other primates including phoestes, Red-colobuses, Blues, Red-tailed, grey cheeked mangabeys, birds, and butterflies. The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora. This will see you return to have your lunch at Primate lodge, after lunch, transfer to bigodi community initiative for a swamp/community walk. Return for an easy/relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.

Day 21: Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Range most of the journey that allows you an en-route visit to Tooro Kingdom palace, Amabere ga Nyinamuiru(a famous cultural site attached to the Tooro Kingdom) and to the crater lakes, returning have your lunch in Fort Portal before proceeding to Queen Elizabeth national park.Take an en-route game drive as you head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 22: Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early morning warm up tea or coffee, you will head for a game drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens mile in search of animals like: lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mangoose, waterbucks, kobs and, if you’re lucky, the leopard, and a great number of bird species, return for a full breakfast, relaxing into the lunch break and after lunch you will be transferred to enjoy a unique two hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This launch cruise gives you a great opportunity for photography, bird watching and game viewing at close range. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species. Dinner and overnight.

Day 23: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla Forest.
On this day, after your early breakfast, transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park with you parked lunch via the Ishasha sector of the tree climbing lions. We will take an en-route game drive here in search of the tree climbing lions before proceeding to Bwindi through the Kigezi highlands in the beauties of the ‘‘Switzerland of Africa’’, arriving at your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.

Day 24: Gorilla Trekking (Bwindi)
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the gorilla tracking information office for a pre-briefing by the park rangers who will then lead you into the forest trekking this great relatives of ours (Mountain gorillas). The rainforest is dense and is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas as they interact with each other is a memorable one. After this day’s gorgeous adventure, you will return for lunch (if not parked), transfer for a late afternoon community walk/visit or visit the pygmies to see this people’s way of life and cultures. Dinner and overnight.

Day 25: Bwindi – Kampala
After an early breakfast, transfer back to Kampala via Mbarara that allows you a lunch break in Mbarara/Masaka town, proceed to Kampala with a brief stopover at the Equator to perform a simple experiment and experience a tropical balance before proceeding to arrive in Kampala, relax into the evening after a long day’s drive. Dinner and overnight.

Day 26: Kampala – Jinja-Kampala.
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the Eastern town of Jinja also known as the adventure capital for yet another exciting adventure parked day. On this day, you will either start with a visit to the famous Sezibwa falls (a local ‘Luganda’ word to mean I cannot be blocked) famous for its magical healing waters and cultural/ritual practices where its believed that people go to seek good luck for your businesses, a good harvest, love favors and child sex choice among others, proceeding later to Jinja via the Mabira forest through the beautiful tea and sugar cane plantations, on arrival, you will take a visit to the source of the Nile river, returning to have your lunch before proceeding to visit Bujagali falls, and adrift camp. Returning later to Kampala for a free thanks and familiarization dinner and cultural performance at Ndere Centre.

Take a full day white water rafting, the Nile high Bungy jumping, Wild speed boat on the Nile, Kayaking, Quad biking, horse riding among other adventure parked activities here (however for any of the activities, earlier booking and confirmation is required and attract a different charge per activity)

Day 27: Airport Transfer.
On this day, depending on the time of your flight, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home. However, if time allows, you will be transferred to do some shopping before the final transfer.
